Your answers and your data.

Purpose of the study

Aspera is the name of a project exploring leg symptoms and their impact on daily life, including when a participant has not received a diagnosis of venous insufficiency. The questionnaire covers routines, self-reported medical history, symptoms, their effect on activities, solutions used and experience with compression stockings. It also asks about interest in a later stage of the study. It does not provide a medical assessment or test the effectiveness of a device.

Information collected

• Country, language, age group, sex, activities and daily routines; answers about reported diagnoses and any CEAP stage, signs, symptoms and solutions used. Health information is self-reported and does not constitute a clinical assessment by this site.
• Questionnaire and consent version, submission date and submission reference.
• Full name, email and phone number are optional and collected only if you provide them and agree to be contacted by email or phone about a later stage of the study. They are stored separately but linked to your answers.

When answers are saved

Answers stay in the tab’s memory until final submission. Closing or reloading the page clears them. We do not save partial responses in the database. Please do not include names or other identifying details in open answers.

Participation and consent

Participation is voluntary. Consent to process research answers and permission to contact you are separate. You can complete the questionnaire without leaving your name or contact details.

Processing is based on consent under Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR and UK GDPR. For health data, it is based on explicit consent under Article 9(2)(a).

Access, services and retention

Access to answers is restricted to authorised team members. The site uses Sites hosting on Cloudflare infrastructure and a Supabase database in the Ireland region. Providers may process technical data and content to operate, protect and maintain the service, including through subprocessors. Contact the controllers for details or requests about any international transfers.

Answers and any contact details will be kept for no more than 12 months after the collection closes, then deleted or anonymised. Backup copies follow the providers’ technical lifecycle and will not be used for other purposes.

Requests and rights

You can contact the controller to exercise applicable rights, including access, correction, deletion and withdrawal of consent. Keep the reference shown after submission to identify your response even if you do not leave contact details. Withdrawal does not affect prior processing.

You can lodge a complaint with the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali in Italy or the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK.

Technical information

We do not use advertising trackers or session recordings. To limit abusive submissions, the server derives a protected temporary identifier from the network address; it is not linked to answers. Hosting providers may process technical data to operate and protect the service.
